ADJUST: +400ms/day to 44100 on account of turning upside down the temperature fine compensation
09 Jun 2025 [17:10]
Revisiting the temperature fine compensation using the TRV a la Joel. The TRV was pointing upwards so that dG/dT would be negative. The last 4 months [link] suggest we want to increase dG/dT by 8ms/day/degC which is 1e-7/degC, So I've turned the TRV upside down. Use dG/dx = m/(2ML) and dx/dT for the TRV is about 0.5mm/degC. With L=2.2m, M=100kg, then we need m=100g. Given that the knurled nut is about 23g then this might get us half way there. Let's see.
